1. Paschimottanasana or Seated Forward Bend Pose
In this pose, you stretch yourself intensely. It helps you get rid of anxiety and stress. It will also help purify your blood, improve your skin complexion, and reduce the look of wrinkles. Besides this, the pose will also help to enhance digestion which can result in some skin conditions such as acne and pimples..
How to perform:
- Sit down and stretch your legs out in front of you.
- Place both palms on your thighs.
- Bend forward while inhaling and try to hold your toes.
- After exhaling, try to hold the pose for about 10 seconds.
- Return to your sitting position.
- Repeat this at least 3 to 4 times.
2. Dolphin Pose
Ardha Pincha Mayurasana, or Dolphin Pose, is a lot like Downward-Facing Dog. Your lower body and legs stay in the same position. But your arms are bent instead of straight, with the palms on the ground. You balance on your forearms while leaning forward. Your forehead or head rests on the ground. The dolphin pose will help boost blood circulation. This helps your face look pink and somewhat glowing.
How to perform:
- Start this pose in the forearm plank position. Press your palms and forearms down on the mat, slightly apart.
- Slowly straighten both legs so your body becomes horizontal. Relax your neck and look down at the mat.
- Walk your feet toward your hands while raising your hips high. As you lift your hips, let your head move naturally toward your feet.
- Hold this position for about 30 seconds.
3. Bow Pose or Dhanurasana
This pose for glowing skin works well when you put pressure on your abdomen. This helps detoxify the system. The bow pose also helps relieve stress and shed extra pounds. This helps you get a healthy glow.
How to perform:
- Lie face down on the mat, with your back facing the ceiling.
- Keep your arms by your sides with your palms facing the ceiling.
- Use your hands to grab the ankles while raising your legs from the ground.
- Go back to the lying position.
- Repeat this pose at least three times.
4. Cobra Pose
This pose is also called Bhujangasana. It helps make your skin glow effectively. The idea is that this pose helps you open your chest and breathe deeper. This lets more oxygen into your system.
How to perform:
- Begin the pose in the usual plank position.
- Lower yourself to the ground as you exhale. Keep your hands on both sides of your chest.
- Roll your shoulders back while gently pressing your elbows in against your torso.
- Reach back to your legs and press them down with your hands. Slowly send your chest forward and out.
- Roll the shoulders back while keeping your legs active and the back of your neck long. Raise the chest from the mat while keeping the arms straight.
- Release down your torso while exhaling once.
5. Shoulder Stand
This yoga pose for glowing skin has other names too. It is also known as Sarvang asana, Supported Shoulder stand, or Salamba Sarvang asana. Since it is an inverted pose, it boosts blood circulation to the head. Note that the shoulder stand can be somewhat hard for beginners. It is wise to avoid this pose if you have any neck or back problems. This is because it might put some pressure on the neck.
How to perform:
- Lie on your back on the mat with your arms at your sides.
- Slowly bend your knees and bring them toward the middle of your body. Raise your feet from the floor as you do.
- Next, raise your hips from the ground so your knees point toward your forehead. Support your hips with both hands as you bend your arms. Your elbows and upper arms must be on the floor.
- Then raise your hips and move your hands further off the back. After that, slowly straighten your legs upward. Hold the pose for several seconds. Then gently lower your legs and return to the original position.
6. Plough Pose or Halasana
This yoga pose is effective at improving overall blood circulation in the body. It helps you feel calm and relaxed. It also has some positive effects on the skin. If you have sleep issues, they might affect your skin in the long run. However, regular Halasana practice will help fix your sleep problems.
How to perform:
- Lie on your back with your palms facing the ceiling.
- Gently lift your legs to 90°. Then raise them over your head to touch the floor.
- Hold this pose for about one minute. Then go back to the original position.
